My Experience
I began my work in communications as a community journalist for nearly five years at several Kentucky newspapers, eventually serving as editor of two publications.
My work has appeared in weekly, multi-weekly and daily newspapers in Kentucky. Although content was primarily focused on interest stories to local readers, newspapers across the state -- including the Louisville Courier-Journal and Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer -- had access to my work through the Kentucky Press News Service.
After a graduate internship supporting the international communications team at a Fortune 50 company and another stint at my local publication, I relocated to the Washington D.C. Metro area to continue my career -- this time in internal communications.
My Education
I graduated with a Master of Arts in strategic communication from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Eastern Kentucky University. I was also editor-in-chief of my student newspaper during undergrad and a presenter at six regional and national collegiate honors program conferences.
